Miss Wisconsin United States

Miss Wisconsin United States
National System Pageant

The Miss United States system is centered in Roanoke, Virginia.  The Park Night Club is the host of Mr. & Miss United States that includes contestants from a variety of preliminary contestants held in and around the East Coast.  Wisconsin is one of a handful of preliminaries outside of Virginia.  Initially, Miss Wisconsin United States was brought to the Midwest by Mark Madison. The first contestant to win Miss Wisconsin United States (Neely O'Hara) went on to be crowned the national titleholder in 2005. The contest is now operated by Scott Stebane.  The categories are:

  • Individual Interview (Male Interview 150 pts)
The interview must be in male attire.  It is divided into three sub-categories of Overall Appearance, Personality, and Communication and Answer Content, each weighing equal in scoring.  50 points per judge.

  • American Runway Fashion (100 pts)
This category must consist of a runway fashion comprised of the color red, white, or blue or any combination of the three (red & white, white only, etc.)  Gold or Silver accents are accepted, but a costume is not what we are looking for (i.e., Statue of Liberty, Eagle, etc.)  No commentaries are required, it is solely a runway modeling category divided into two sub-categories of Presentation and Creativity/Overall Impression - each weighing equal in scoring (50 points per judge)

  • Evening Gown (150 pts)
ANY TYPE of full-length gown is acceptable.  Judges score on three sub-categories as follows, each weighing equal in scoring (50 pts. each per judge):  Styling and Fit will focus on Gown design and condition and whether it compliments the contestant.  Presentation addresses modeling technique, poise, smile, etc. Overall Appearance will include accessories, make-up, hair style, etc.  This category will represent the most elegant portion of the contest.

  • Talent (300 pts. per judge)
Categories for talent are as follows:  Costuming and Set Design - 50 points per judge.  Choreography & Stage Presence -  75 points per judge. Quality (Lip sync, Live vocal, dancing ability, etc.) - 100 points per judge.  Entertainment Value (Usually, but not always, seen in the audience response) - 75 points per judge.
