Miss Wisconsin Continental 2006

The Wisconsin Preliminary pageant for Miss Continental has been around for approximately 10 years. One of the very first Wisconsin Continental's, Tasha Long, went on to win the national prize. Wisconsin Continental is promoted by John Ford of Rockford. Along with Miss Wisconsin Continental, John also owns and promotes Miss Illinois Continental and Illinois Continental Plus. Prior to John's acquisition of Wisconsin Continental it was ran for several years by Stella Johnson; prior to Stella, Wisconsin Continental was promoted by "Chunga". Until 2005, Wisconsin Continental had various preliminary pageants throughout the state that were used to qualify individuals for the state pageant. Preliminary Pageants included Miss Kenosha, Milwaukee, Cream City, Northern and Wausau.

For Miss Wisconsin Continental 2005 there were no state preliminary pageants held. It was an open system pageant and anyone could compete. The preliminaries returned for the 2006 competition due to the hard work of the reigning Miss WI Continental 2005, Jazmine Roberts. The competition for 2006 included five contestants; Jackie Christine, Krystal Styles, Deja Voo, Gigi Lexus & Brittney Morgan.

Miss Continental is traditionally held Labor day weekend in Chicago. Continental is primarily about beauty - and the categories reflect this.

Categories include:

Group Interview
Group interview consists of all contestants participating in interview as the same time and adding what they feel relevant to the conversation. Judges score individuals on their ability to interview in a group setting and what they add to the overall conversation. Scoring is done accumulative where each contestant can have the same points awarded from a single judge.

Swimsuit
Swimsuit is a general category that sets Continental apart from other systems. This is the only major system that has swimwear as a category for "Miss" contestants. Scoring is accumulative for contestants.

Talent
Talent can be any presentation up to seven (7) minutes in length. Scoring is accumulative for each contestant.

Evening Gown
Evening gown is a general category where the only stipulations are that the gown must be full length and that hair and accessories must compliment the gown.

Recent History

Miss WI Continental 2006:
Miss Wisconsin Continental 2006 had various contestants representing preliminary contests from across the state. The winners and 1st alternates of these preliminaries could compete at the State Competition. Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, Kenosha, Sheboygan, and Green Bay had preliminary contests. In the end, the contestants competing were (in order of placement): Jackie Christine (Milwaukee), Krystal Styles (Kenosha), Deja Voo (appointed), Gigi Lexus (Green Bay), and Brittney Morgan (Appleton). Jackie Christine continued on to Nationals.

Miss WI Continental 2005:
For the first time in several years, Wisconsin Continental was moved from Green Bay where is was usually held at Theatre West, to Milwaukee, where it was held at LaCage. There were no preliminary contests held throughout the year due to a variety of reasons including the current reigning titleholder, Taylor Roberts, having left the State and not done anything to promote the system. In the end, there were two contestants (in order of placement): Jazmine Roberts and Jennifer Alyce. Jazmine Roberts continued on to Nationals.

Miss WI Continental 2004:
Miss Wisconsin Continental 2004 was held at Theatre West in Green Bay. Once again, preliminary contests were held throughout the State for contestants to qualify. In the end, there were seven contestants: Taylor Roberts (Winner), Justine D'Zire (1st Alternate), Diamond Girl, Krystal Styles, Eileen Dover, Jennifer Alycec and another from Wausau area.
